It’s not easy to keep track of appointments, let alone homework assignments. Especially when you are a student. So one college student decided to do something about it.

 

Paul Pilone, a computer engineering major, developed an application for the iPhone and iPod Touch called iHomework. The application reportedly helps students stay organized and track school work and upcoming assignments. It students store their planners on their iPhone, which in turn, helps students better interact with professors.

In addition, the app offers up-to-date reminders about deadlines and helps organize to-do lists.

 

Since Pilone developed and submitted iHomework Apple, the application is now used by more than 22,000 people in the U.S. according to the Collegiate Times. Pilone estimates his net profit will be $15,400 (£9,337) on national orders. And the popularity is building.

 

 Adoption of iHomework is growing in Canada and the U.K. where 100 users each month there are downloading the application, the Collegiate Times said.

 

Since its launch in January, the most significant update for iHomework has been a desktop version, which lets users sync information from their iPhone or iPod Touch to their Mac. Pilone said he want to make other improvements within the field of educational technology. For instance, he plans to continue to advance the concept of iHomework, adding more collaboration with teachers.

“I want to have more teacher interaction, for them to have the ability to send out assignments and keep track of lessons,” Pilone told the Collegiate Times.
